Pre-installation
Customer owns a smallholding with 2 private residences, staff accommodation and a nursery school operating on the property. The property has a 30kVa diesel generator to assist during loadshedding. The average diesel bill during high occurances of loadshedding ranges between R16k and R20k per month compounded with a typical month Eskom usage bill of R5600 per month during summer and R8300 during the winter months (which excludes connection fees)
System installed
Synergy Energy proposed and installed a 24kW Sunsynk 3phase system with 30 X 545W JA Solar panels and 45kWh Lithium batteries. Smart WiFi timer switches were installed to regulate the swimming pool pump and hydronic underfloor heating systems.
Additionally, traditional hot water geyser systems were converted to Paloma gas boilers.
Result
Diesel generator run times were reduced to only operate during extended overcast conditions amounting to an average of 12Hours per month. Eskom billing during the summer months reduced to range between R800 to R1200 per month (excluding connection fees)
Zero lifestyle nor operation disruptions are experienced & security remains uncompromised. Potential diesel savings alone on this project offers a return on investment of under 3 years.
